AMR 36 Coccinelle Tankette
Price
£20.00

First conceived as a tractor for use on France's lunar colonies, the AMR 36 "Coccinelle" gained popularity in the public eye for news footage of the light, limber vehicle bounding across the lunar surface hauling cargo more than twice its size with the same effortlessness as an ant. Despite its popularity in the media, the limited usefulness of the Moon itself resulted in large quantities of the armored tractors collecting dust in warehouses on Earth, not far from the factories that manufactured them.

Upon the outbreak of the Great War, France was desperate for any and all munitions they could lay hands on, and the abandoned Coccinelles found new life as light combat vehicles rushed to the front lines to confront much larger and better-armed Imperial tanks. While mostly regarded as trashy death traps in this role, an enterprising French engineer discovered that the airtight design made the little tankettes into the perfect carriers for flamethrowers, more heavily protected and swift than a regular infantryman and smaller than most other such vehicles in use on the field.

Both variants of the Coccinelle became common sights on the battlefields of the Great War, even when French industry began to replace them with more modern designs, utilized by the resourceful tankers of the Republic as everything from a close assault vehicle to, fittingly, its original intended use as a cargo hauler.

-- Includes 5 magnetizable weapon options (Machine Gun, Cannon, Autocannon, Flamethrower, and Energy Cannon) and 3 cargo modules. All usable with 3x2mm magnets
